IPAD - Connecting IP telephony and Active Directory
Dimension Data’s IP telephony-Active Directory (IPAD) Connector is a user provisioning solution that integrates Cisco IP telephony infrastructure with Microsoft Active Directory, unifying identity management across your voice and network environments. Active Directory serves as the primary user directory for Cisco’s CallManager voice over IP (VoIP) system. Users added to Active Directory are automatically provisioned in the CallManager directory, with all necessary VoIP attributes added, changed or deleted.
Dimension Data’s IPAD Connector gives you:
- A single user administration point for your network, applications and telephony
- Consistent replication of user information
- A system that automatically manages MACDs and logs all activity
- The ability to connect additional directories, such as Siebel, SAP and Lotus Notes, for a complete identity management system
- A convenient provisioning framework for embedding business processes such as approvals.
The IPAD connector is based on Microsoft Identity Integration Server, which provides a unified view of all known identity information about users, applications and network resources for organisations with multiple directories. To this framework Dimension Data adds a proven set of processes and capabilities such as web-based forms for user provisioning and directory searches.
Our consultants have significant experience integrating Microsoft and Cisco environments and Dimension Data is a registered Microsoft Identity Integration Server Partner.
